Nervous Records will release Frankie Knuckles' Motivation Too on October 13th, 2009.
Frankie Knuckles his set to mix up first commercial compilation in six years.
Knuckles has been pushing house music forward since the '80s, and the phrase "house music" is even said to have originated from the man himself as a tag to describe the music that he was playing at Chicago's Warehouse club. He's since moved back to his hometown of New York, which was where he found the inspiration to record 2001's Motivation mix. Unfortunately, the catalyst for that particular mix was the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers on September 11th, but Frankie has decided to follow it up with this year's Motivation Too release. Those looking for a more retro mix may be disappointed, as most of Knuckles' selections are taken from the last ten years of US house, including cuts from Grand High Priest, Michelle Weeks and Timmy Vegas.
